It is the total fees divided by the total number of classes, giving us the cost-per-class. Then we multiply the cost-per-class times the number of classes that have already occurred, which we then subtract from the total amount and become the "prorated discount". If prorating is "turned off", then customers are charged the full class fees even after classes have begun. ADDL: If holidays have been configured, the holidays will not be counted in the number of class meetings that have occurred or will occur. Also, if class instances have been used to exclude some class meetings for any reason (not just holidays) then the proration will not include the excluded dates in the calculation of the proration.
