The Custom Fields section of a Class allows you to create a field for internal purposes (this is different from a Course Custom Field). When you create a Custom Field in a Class, this field is accessible in all classes. It does not show to the public on the ASAP Public Portal.
A) If an organization wants to track a unique identifier for internal matching purposes against a 3rd party system (again for classes versus at the Course or Curriculum level), you can create a custom field (call it 3rd Party ID) and then enter a value in each individual class.
B) If you want to track your expenses for a particular class or even multiple types of expenses, create a custom field for each type of expense.
To create a custom field, follow these steps:
- Find any class, click Edit Class.
- Scroll down to the Custom Fields section at the bottom.
- Click "Add New Custom Field" and provide a name/label.
- Click "Save New Field".
- Click "Save and Close" at the bottom.
You will now see this field on every Class Edit/Builder page.
** Note: Class Custom Fields are unique to each organization. At this time, the data is only accessible via custom reports that must be ordered.
