Using email tokens

Tokens allow you to customize your automated ASAP emails. For example, if you put the {Participant.FirstName} token at the top of the Payment template, when the system send out an email based on that template due to a student making a payment, that student's first name would appear in that email in place of the token.

Tokens only work in automated emails that are sent out by the system. For example, when a student enrolls in a class the system automatically sends out the Payment template. In that case, the token would work. However, if you were to write an email to a student yourself the token would not work because you are triggering that email to be sent manually.

Another way to say this is, Tokens only work in ASAP's default email templates (the ones that come with your account):

  • Payment Due Template
  • Payment Template
  • Reminder Template
  • Password Reset
  • Private Lesson Enrollment Template

and only when the system sends those emails, not when you send them manually.

ASAP currently supports the following tokens in our emails:

  • {Participant.FirstName}
  • {Participant.LastName}
  • {Participant.ID}
  • {Primary.FullName}
  • {Primary.ID}
  • {Class.DetailGrid}
  • {paymentLink}
  • {Instructor.Schedule}
  • {WaitListMessage}

 In addition we're still supporting the following deprecated tokens:

  • ##NEWPASS##
  • ##INVHEADER##
  • ##ClassDetail##
  • ##ClassDetails##
  • ##CLASSDETAIL##
  • ##OrgDetails##
  • ##OrgDetail##
  • ##START_DATE##
  • ##END_DATE##

    Is there a token that can be used in an email that will populate the Additional Information that is supposed to print on printed invoices and email confirmations?
