Course and class media

You may want to add photos, videos, and/or documents to a course or to individual classes.

If you wish to add media to a course, so that it shows in all related classes, you will want to start from the course level.

First locate the course you wish to add media to. From the course detail page, select "Upload course media" from the left side.

If there is already any media uploaded in this course, it will show under its respective category.

From the "Upload media" table, click the 'file upload' link and select the file you wish to upload. Once it is selected, give it a title, and select what type of file it is.

Once this is done, click the 'add file' button to upload and save the file to the course. It will now show under it's respective table, and will apply to all classes within this course.

To add media to an individual class:

First find the class you would like to add media to through the class search. Once you are on the class detail page, find the 'I want to...' dropdown menu, and select 'View class media.'

You will now be brought to the same page as you saw previously when viewing course media, except now the media will only apply to this specific class.

What does it mean that "it will apply to" a course or class? Is it intended as a way for teachers to make documents available to students? I tried uploading a test document to a class and enrolling myself in the class, and from my student account on the front end I wasn't able to see the document. I'll keep experimenting with options but if you could indicate how this feature is intended to be used, that would be great.
    Thanks.

You can see the document on the online registration site, under My Activities - find the class and click on View Class Media.

    Thanks Beth,
I just experimented with that and I came up against the issue that the class I tried, like most of our classes, is not available online. I couldn't see a View Class Media link on the My Activities page itself, so I presume I would need to go into the class page to see it, is that right?

I think so - I've just been playing around with it the past couple of days to see if I could make it work for our organization. If you are in the app itself, bring up a class, then click on View Details, then I want to ... View Class Media - you can view/upload from there. HTH and good luck!

Yes I managed to upload, but then I went to view it from a student's end and I wasn't able to see it. The classes came up under "My activities" but when I clicked on a class, it just said "this class is not available online", and nothing else. If that's the only way to see this content, I think it won't work for our purposes. Thanks for your reply, though.
