This situation does come up where a student is requesting a refund but the card used for the original purchase has expired. Unfortunately, ASAP is unable to process refunds of this nature as when the payment gateway interacts with the system, they use all information submitted initially to perform any further transactions. Since the card is expired, ASAP will not send that request for a refund to the merchant payment gateway. You would need to contact whomever your selected payment gateway is in order to process the refund through them. Once done, you would just have to record the refund as an offline credit card transaction within ASAP.
