Balance showing on results page

Hello,

I see that the balance associated with a student's account is no longer appearing with the search results when we look up a student. It was very helpful at this time of term, when a lot of people are calling up to pay and it saves a few steps when we have that 'pay now' right from the results page.

I presume it's been changed for some purpose, but I just wanted to put in that feedback that it's missed.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

We appreciate your feedback. The reason we removed the balance due and 'pay now' option is to optimize the student search and to cut down on the page load time. The 'pay now' link is moved to the student detail page, from where you can complete the payment the same way as you used to from the student search page.

Hi Paul,

I questioned the same thing yesterday and this was the response:

This was done in an effort to optimize the student search and only show pertinent information in regards to their account

I guess knowing how much is owed wasn't considered pertinent even though for us-IT'S THE MOST PERTINENT INFORMATION.

I wish a survey was given to us, the ones who use the system and ask us what we want, what's important, and what can be changed.  Some good things SHOULD NOT be changed.

I was wondering what happened to it!!!  I was happy to see this student finally did not have a balance, but then saw that THEY DID when I clicked on this.  We are already MANUALLY writing down balances due on the screen-captured calendar schedule everyday and this was very helpful to see the balance due in RED right away without having to make multiple clicks!  Please bring it back!  Or make a feature on the calendar that highlights (in RED) students with past due balances)

We have also been dismayed that this feature has disappeared. What about the extra load times trying to make sure you've clicked on the right person?

It seems like someone fixed a problem no one was complaining about, and in doing so, removed a feature that many of us appreciated.

Having this info on the results page was very helpful. There are many situations where it comes up, but another one just occurred today:

Someone made a direct deposit payment and it's not clear who it was from. I tried looking in the A/R report to match the amount but none matches exactly. The payment does give a first name in the description, so if I could search for that name and see the amount owing on each account with that name, it would be a quick process to narrow down the possible sources.
